Coordinators are our links to RMD Houses. A coordinator makes initial contact with their local House and introduces our mission: providing a little support for the moms checking in. Our totes include: lip balm, hand cream, hand sanitizer, tissues, nail file, journal, a pen, colored pencils, a sharpener and a packet of postcards to color plus a handmade shrug (or shawl) with notes from both the knitter/crocheter and when possible the name of someone who made a donation to our cause. When shrugs are ready to be delivered or shipped to RMD House, our coordinator lets us know how many Stay Strong Totes to ship to their house manager. The totes will be waiting for the coordinator to place their shrugs in. At our last count there were 157 RMD Houses in the United States. We need your help. Please consider joining our community of support and “Send some Hugs through Shrugs” to moms entering your local Ronald McDonald House.
Starting Wednesday, October 4, 2017, you can knit and crochet with us the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at the Martinsville Community Center, 1961 Washington Valley Road from 12:30-2:30.
